Coming from the slopes of Mount Kenya, this coffee is the combined effort of many small farm owners who bring their cherries to the Kiamugumo factory for processing. Mount Kenya is an extinct volcano and is the second-highest peak in the country after Kilimanjaro. Glacial waters flow down the Kii River from Mount Kenya’s snowcapped peak, providing the main water source for the Kiamugumo processing factory. The chilled water also cools the air in the surrounding region, creating a unique microclimate for growing coffee.

Coffee Bio

Though it is grown by many hands, the coffee holds a stunning clarity. It’s the perfect culmination of shared effort and environment that creates a stellar example of what Kenyan coffee is so well known for. This lot from Kiamugomo features crisp citrus notes with a complex, structured acidity that is both sweet and tangy. Underneath the bright acidity lies a rich cola flavor that adds the perfect amount of sweetness to balance the brightness and keeps you wanting more.

After being absent from our lineup for a few years, we wanted to make sure that our first Kenya release was really something special. Kiamugumo passed with flying colors, and we can’t wait for you to try it.
