Incuti / Burundi
Lime / Almond / Butterscotch
Our second offering from the Burundi Coffee specialists at JNP Imports is a washed coffee from the Incuti group. This coffee is grown near a high-altitude rainforest in the Kayanza region among tea, banana, and cassava plants. Incuti is a past Cup of Excellence winner and is no stranger to producing excellent coffee. However, it was the draw of JNP’s Dushime incentive that drew the attention of the leader of the group and motivated him to pursue a partnership with JNP.
Dusime is one of JNP’s many programs targeted at creating long-lasting, mutually beneficial relationships with their producing partners. In Kirundi, Dushime translates to “let’s be thankful.” In practice, Dushime is an extra payment to the producers who work with JNP. After the last harvest has been sold by JNP to customers like Spyhouse and others across the world, the profits from those sales are reinvested into the farmers’ communities for local resources. These investments can include farming resources, additional labor, or educational resources like payment for school supplies or secondary education fees. All of these can help lift the financial burden of many in the community and help to create a more comfortable life in Burundi.

Coffee Bio
This coffee is a wonderful representation of washed coffee from Burundi. It has a bright acidity that will certainly grab your attention. Beneath the brightness is a rich, sweet note of butterscotch with a hint of almond. As it cools, more mellow fruit flavors come forward to balance the brightness of the acidity and maintain the intrigue of this excellent coffee.
