Fazenda Chapadão lies south of Minas Gerais and is uniquely suited for coffee production. The name Chapadão references the topography of the farm location, which is a plateau at a relatively high elevation in Brazil. The flat land at a high elevation means easier picking and allows large patios for drying the coffee in the sun after harvesting. Sebastião Curimbaba and his father took note of the excellent position of the farm and acquired it many years ago. After slowly investing in infrastructure and professional qualifications for the farm team, the quality and consistency of the coffee began to stand out from the surrounding farms.

Coffee Bio

Fazenda Chapadão began its specialty program in 2016, producing many high-scoring coffees—including this Topázio lot. Typically, Brazillian coffees are known for their soft and simple profiles of nutty flavors, with some of the better coffees combining nuttiness with sweet chocolate notes. This lot maintains some of the familiar nutty characteristics of Brazil and has a pleasant fruitiness that pairs nicely with a mild, tart acidity. It’s an excellent coffee that strikes a perfect balance of approachable and intriguing, and we are thrilled to add it to our lineup.
