Las Piedras is a portion of the famous, four generation Finca La Esperanza. Otto Herrera’s son, Octavio has taken over the responsibility of recultivating this formerly abandoned lot and we have the pleasure of releasing this first crop. Las Piedras has shown exceptionally well on the table on its first harvest year and the family is working diligently to further improve production in the years to come. We are looking forward to seeing the development of this coffee as we continue to work with the Herrera family.
La Esperanza's classic cocoa and sweet nut profile is offset by a slight sparkling sweet orange and cherry-like fruitiness. This coffee is a crowd pleaser, but don’t take that to mean that it is boring. It is the perfect coffee for crunching Fall leaves beneath your feet.
