Gakurari / Kenya
Regular price $18.00Gakurari starts off with clear flavors of tart red plum and soft rose petal. As the cup develops, the brightness pushes through to reveal passionfruit, guava, and tangerine—upheld by a lingering aftertaste of hazelnut truffles. This coffee is the epitome of balanced complexity that caused us to marvel at its first sips. It is the perfect coffee for helping push through these last few months of winter.

Coffee Bio
Gakurari comes from the Gatunyu-Kigio Farmers Cooperative Society in Murang’a County. This cooperative consists of 250 men and 130 women. Coffees from this region are often overshadowed by the more famous factories in Nyeri. However, after receiving educational support in farming and picking techniques from Kenya Cooperative Coffee Exporters in 2018, there was a significant improvement in their cups this year. Daniel Mbaradi manages the mill’s precise washing and drying processes, with all water being supplied by the nearby River Chania and River Kiama. We are excited to offer their coffee this year with its complex range of fruit flavors. More so, we are looking forward to what the future may hold with them.
