Pacas, Yellow Catuai
José Amado Fernández is a historically exceptional producer. He placed first in the 2010 Honduran Cup of Excellence, and sixth in 2013. Don Amado, the farm's namesake and José's father, passed his farm down to his four sons. Each son inherited their own lot, but share a central facility for their processing. The brothers individually oversee their own parcel and process their coffee separately. José Amado Fernández's parcel is 4.2 hectares and directly overlooks Lake Yojoa, the largest in Honduras. His farm is honestly the cleanest and most organized we have ever seen. It is an honor and great opportunity to carry this coffee and we hope to build a long term relationship with this family.
Don Amado's first impression is that of a sweet apricot with a lemon zest sparkle, developing into toffee, light caramel, and chocolate tones with the silky body of whipped cream pies. This coffee is a great example of the exceptional results of many years of experience and great attention to details. It is the perfect coffee to pair with dessert.
The Don abides.
