Osmin Reyes starts off with deep red fruit flavors and spice notes that remind us of Merlot. As the cup develops, we see notes of roasted nuts, caramelized sugar, and rich cocoa that together calls to mind cinnamon rolls and turtle truffles. This coffee is full of classic coffee flavors in a beautifully rich and refined representation. It is the perfect coffee to pair with just about any baked good or dessert.

Spyhouse has been working with Osmin Reyes for three years after a perfectly timed visit to Otilio Leiva’s farm on our last trip to Honduras. As we were about to leave for the evening, Osmin arrived with a sample of his first pickings, late in the season due to the high elevation of his farm. We were able to roast the sample that night and cup it quickly before flying home the next morning. That coffee ended up being one of the best of the entire trip and being a new farm, showed great potential in an area we already knew had some true jewels of the coffee world. Over the years, we have seen this coffee grow in its depth of complexity and richness. It has become a coffee we look forward to each year.
